About our Speaker
Known for his leadership in both private school education and religious studies, Dr. Campbell is a respected authority in ethics and moral formation, American Culture, theology, and United Methodism.
Dr. Campbell most recently served as Headmaster for Woodberry Forest School in Virginia from 1997-2014. Before moving to Woodberry, Dr. Campbell was the Dean of the Divinity School and Professor of Theology at Duke University from 1982-1997.
Throughout his career, Dr. Campbell has truly led with a servant heart as demonstrated by his leadership on numerous community non-profit advisory boards focusing on the welfare and care for children, family health, and education. Dr. Campbell has also been a highly respected religious representative both nationally and internationally.
As current Vice Chairman of The Duke Endowment Board of Trustees, Dr. Campbell continues to serve others by representing one of the nation’s largest private foundations supporting higher education, health care, children’s welfare, and spiritual life for the people of North Carolina and South Carolina.
